Yes we are able to accept individuals who require oxygen during the day. We need information about the oxygen.
While we do provide individualized attention, someone requiring one on one attention throughout the entire day would not be appropriate, also those who are combative and/or a danger to him/herself or others, may also not be appropriate.
Medication can be dispensed by the center nurses with an appropriate order from the participant’s medical doctor. Medications also must be in an original pharmacy container with the pharmacy label. Participants are allowed to take medication on their own.
We do provide transportation to and from the program. This is primarily for those residing in Shelby County, but check with us about out of county options as we have some agreements with neighboring county transportation groups.
Participants receive the services of a Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, and Licensed Social Worker. In addition a Registered Dietician is available for consultation with our staff for individual client needs. Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapy services are available, a physician’s order is required for these services. Breakfast, lunch, and snacks throughout the day, and the cost of transportation are included. Program activities are also included.
In many cases, this is true, and we are happy to work with you and the V.A to make sure you receive any benefits you qualify for in regards to participation in the program. Those approved by the V. A. for attendance may have the cost of attendance covered or pay a small daily copay.
We serve a light breakfast (usually cereal and fruit with coffee, tea, or hot chocolate), a hot lunch, and snacks. There is no additional cost for meals.
We are glad to work with you to see if your insurance will cover the costs of attendance. For those without insurance coverage, the cost of the program is $52.00 per day. We do have funding through other programs/ sources and will utilize those sources if you qualify which may cover the all or part of the cost.
We have a range of activities and maintain a full activity calendar. Examples of activities include Music groups, Arts and Crafts, Bingo, Ladies/Co-Ed Tea Parties, Chair Exercises, Current Events, Trivia, Crossword Puzzles, Pet Therapy. All activities, are a choice. Activities are geared towards maintaining cognitive as well as physical health.
